Hot off the presses today, the Senate has approved the appointment of Albert Diaz to the Fourth Circuit. Diaz, a former JAG lawyer and attorney with Hunton & Williams, is an NYU Law alum. He is the first Latino on the Fourth Circuit.
Yesterday the Senate confirmed the appointments of Catherine Eagles, Kimberly Mueller, John Gibney, and James Bredar. These four are law graduates of George Washington, Stanford, Virginia, and Georgetown, respectively.
A flock of unconfirmed judges remain in the queue, of course. I wonder how may will be confirmed before the end of the session.
Here in Greensboro, we're especially happy for Judge Eagles. But good news all around. Here's hoping they aren't the last.
