And shame on those 18 countries that caved in to pressure from China and chose not to attend the ceremony, including "Chinese allies Pakistan, Venezuela and Cuba, Chinese neighbors such as Russia, the Philippines and Kazakhstan, and Chinese business partners such as Saudi Arabia and Iran," as well as Ukraine, Colombia, Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, Iraq, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Serbia and Morocco.

Perhaps Tom Friedman should have gone in his place, the Chinese would have loved that.
