Widener University School of Law seeks a full-time Legal Methods Professor for its Wilmington, Delaware campus. Widener’s program in legal analysis, writing, and research is a collaboratively developed three-semester sequence of required courses. The successful candidate for this position will teach two sections of the first year course, which emphasizes mastery of lawyering skills as the bedrock of professionalism. A new Legal Methods professor at Widener is typically appointed at the rank of Assistant Legal Methods Professor with a two year contract that can be renewed with a three year contract, and ultimately may lead to a five year, presumptively renewable contract.
Candidates for this position should have superior research and written and oral communication abilities. Candidates with relevant teaching experience will be strongly preferred. To apply, send a cover letter, c.v., and writing sample to Associate Professor Mary Ellen Maatman, at [email protected], or 4601 Concord Pike, P.O. Box 7474, Wilmington, DE 19803. Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2011.
