Colorado Law Dean David Getches Stepping Down

David Getches, who is in his eighth year as dean at the University of Colorado School of Law, is stepping down as of next summer.  Getches, a University of Southern California law graduate and expert in natural resources and American Indian law, has been on the Colorado faculty since 1979.   In 1970 he became the first executive director of  Native American Rights Fund, a high-profile Native American rights organization.  He also served as ED  of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources from 1983 to 1987.   He plans to return to teaching next year.
