Archival Research: There's An App For That

This is kinda cool.  The iPhone JD blog posted a review of Prizmo, an iPhone app that allows a user to scan and OCR documents on the iPhone. 

It looks pretty simple, snap a photo, click, crop to the area you want OCR'd and click Next.  Right there on your iPhone the document is turned into searchable text.  Some other cool features include the ability to copy the text into another document, mail the text to yourself, have the text Google translated, and even have the document read aloud (who needs music on the treadmill when there are A.L.R. excerpts to listen to!).  But wait...there's more.  It has a business card feature to snap photos of business cards and have them imported directly into your contacts.
