The WSJ is reporting that Harvard law prof Elizabeth Warren is under serious consideration by the White House to run the new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. Two other names also have emerged: Michael Barr (Treasury) and Gene Kimmelman (Justice). No doubt the banking community is carefully watching President Obama's choice, who will be subject to Senate confirmation.
I believe Michael Barr is also a law professor, currently on leave from the University of Michigan to work at Treasury.
