John Hutson, who has served as the dean of Franklin Pierce Law Center for the past 11 years, announced that he'll be leaving the post next summer. Over his final year and half at the helm, he hopes to secure a merger between the law school and the University of New Hampshire. If he succeeds, that will be one less New England state lacking a state-affiliated law school. I'm sure that the folks at UMass will happily share their insights and advice.
Combining the merger process with a dean search will certainly liven things up in Concord!
