Today's question: I'll piggyback on Kelly's question from yesterday and ask this:
Name an actor whose only Oscar nomination came for playing someone named Oscar (or a variation of that spelling).
Pictured: The Odd Couple (1968), starring Walter Matthau as Oscar Madison. Matthau earned three Oscar nominations (one win), but all were for his work in other films.
Liam Neeson, as Oskar Schindler in Schindler's List.

Correct. Leeson lost out to Tom Hanks (PHILADELPHIA), but the film did capture seven Oscars (including honors for Best Picture and Best Director).

Great spin on the original question, Tim! As a second piggy back, I'd like to add something about another man named Oscar who never won an Oscar, but who was posthumously recognized by both the Producers Guild of America and the Directors Guild of America: Oscar Micheaux. Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Micheaux
(I thought this was an especially timely reference during Black History Month.)
