A picture of the old Columbia, South Carolina RC bottling plant. I guess it goes without saying that it's seen better days.
I remember RC from my days growing up in Philly as pitched to an African American audience. One of the ads was about an African American woman who became a successful singer and returned home to her community. One of the lines--I can hardly believe I remember this --was "girl you got a voice that'll take you far someday."
In more recent years I haven't had the sense at all that RC is marketed to African Americans. One of these days I need to investigate this.
