I've got a couple of nice photos of monuments in Oxford, North Carolina. First, the obligatory Confederate Monument. The neighborhood around the monument's undergoing some construction, obviously.
Within sight of this statue is a granite monument put up on the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by the Daughters of the American Revolution, to the people of Granville County (of which Oxford is the county seat) who fought in the Revolution. Soon I'll put up some photographs from north of the Mason-Dixon line.
The photo of the Port-a-Potty next to the Confederate monument surely invites a caption contest. I'll open with "Confederate Soldier Meets His Waterless Loo". Surely someone can do better than that?

... or how about "Johnny Reb"?
