As Brian Leiter now informs us, the University of Chicago Law School has selected UCLA Law dean Michael Schill to be its new dean. He replaces Saul Levmore, who will step down at the end of the year. Schill has been dean at UCLA at 2004, when he left NYU Law School. He is a real estate, housing, and property expert. By all accounts he was highly successful at UCLA, and Chicago clearly must have had its pick of superb dean candidates. He'll surely be earning a nice wage at the U of C. According to SF Gate, Schill was making north of $500K at UCLA.
BTW, Brian's announcement of Schill's departure from NYU to become dean at UCLA is here.
