I just returned (hello, jet lag!) from the Beyond Text in Legal Education conference at the University of Edinburgh, and it was a marvelous reunion. (The first part of the conference was in December 2008, and if you want to see a short (20 min?) documentary on it, click here. The organizers of the conference, Prof. Zenon Bankowski and Maksymilian Del Mar (both of the University of Edinburgh) wrote a much better description of the event than I could have done, and you can see it here. I'll post some more about this wonderful conference soon, but keep your eyes open for some more from the organizers and the participants. We're talking about such things as an e-book and some "best practices" work coming out in the next six months or so.

The name and venue of the conference gave me the amusing thought of a satirical sketch comedy called "Beyond the Textual Fringe" with Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Jonathan Miller, & Alan Bennett portraying law professors.
I'm sure the actual conference was good, but my imaginary one would be hilarious.
