So this week, Microsoft seems to have unveiled its new search engine, bing.com. I'm told it's supposed to rival and even surpass Google in popularity. I gave it a whirl and noticed that the search results are different than on Google, but I don't know if they're better or not. Certainly the image search on bing seemed to bring up less relevant results than those on Google image search (although image searches are never that useful anyway).
In other search engine news, I read in the USA Today yesterday (yes, I was conferencing again and indulging in the USA Today as I am wont to do) that Google is sending Google tricycles decked out with Google-cams to otherwise inaccessible bike paths to add to Google maps for the benefit of hikers and cyclists.
It's a search engine kind of world...
