Yeah, Internet access is the mini-bar of 2009.

I love it that usually I'm the glass half-empty person, and this time I did the glass half-full thing, but speaking of glasses, I did notice at my hotel in Chicago that the bottle of still water in the mini bar was $7.00 - which is the highest price I've ever seen for a bottle of water. I also noted that I was unable to make cellphone calls from anywhere in the hotel ie the phone registered "connection error" every time I tried. Yet outside the hotel, I had no problems. I'm told that cellphone signal scramblers are illegal, but is it possible some hotels are using them to force you to pay their outrageous phone charges? [OK - that's more like it. I'm back to "glass half-empty" status again. Thanks for bringing me back to earth, Adam.]
