In his blog, Morse Code, Bob Morse - the US News Ranking Czar - addressed the swirling conversations in the blogosphere regarding the magazine's law rankings. He tossed roses to ATL and Paul Caron ("some of the best coverage") and acknowledged his critic in chief, Brian Leiter (Leiter Reports "continue to offer sophisticated commentary and criticism as well as suggestions on how to improve the ranking.") He gives a couple of other blogs (including the Lounge) a nod, and even makes extensive reference to Judge Pollak's critique of US News (albeit while misspelling the judge's name...)
Bottom Line: law rankings are providing valuable information that has proved to be useful to prospective students, as well as to practicing attorneys and legal academics, in evaluating the relative merits of different law schools and legal programs.
