How is it "presumably 9-month," and how likely are professors to get money in the other 3 months? (aspiring academic question)

I assume Dan means not including summer research grants, which might add 10k or 15k to salary under the guise of it being for "research funds."

Oh, and summer research grants are usually pretty much automatic at most places (at least for profs actually doing some sort of research, which after all is part of the job description.

I received my first personal loans when I was 25 and this helped my relatives a lot. But, I require the secured loan as well.
