Here's some data on snowfall in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, and Montgomery Alabama (and Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, and Virginia to boot.)
I spent eight years in Alabama, and it snowed twice. One of those two storms resulted in a touch of slush (and the closing of all schools, businesses, and other enterprises) and the other lasted about ten minutes, with no accumulation. Let's face it: snow is very rare in Alabama. But data will never compare with images and videos. This video appeared today on the website of the Birmingham News. Snow is so infrequent in Birmingham, that this remarkably mundane video is genuine news. In the northeast, or the midwest, we'd call it...a home movie.
