I've previously mentioned the CQ Vice-Presidential brackets, which predicted a Huckabee - McCain ticket and have now entered the second round of Democratic predictions. (I'm still smarting over Chuck Hagel's first round loss.) Now MSNBC is entering the fray with its own Vice-Presidential game. The Republican edition is in Round 3, and the quarterfinals feature a) Pawlenty v. Lieberman, b) Romney v. Huckabee, c) Thune v. Powell, and d) Jindal v. Rice. All I can say is that this particular eight-some suggests information markets ain't so great. Good news, though. The Dem's contest is still in the first round. So head right over and vote!
Speaking of genuine information markets, check this out: a site aggregating betting odds at a flock of online casinos shows Obama in a significant lead. At 11 of the 12 sites, Obama is ahead - typically carrying 1:2 odds compared to McCain at something like 6:4. Perhaps these bettors lack information - given current law, most bettors are probably offshore. But this is still good news for Obama (as are similar results at the Iowa Electronics Markets.)
