Today we officially announce the renaming of the Drexel University College of Law. Henceforth, we will be called the Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law. Mack, who (not surprisingly) is donating a lot of money to the law school, is a 1959 graduate of Drexel University. In addition to having served as an ambassador to Finland, he was a senior parter of Mack Co., a real estate developer, and a founding board member of Mack-Cali Realty. He has served on both the Yeshiva University and Cardozo Law School boards - and he is currently Chairman Emeritus of the Cardozo Law School board. The gift, which includes both a $15 million contribution by Mack and a $15 million match, is apparently among the top six (or perhaps top ten?) largest in law school history.
Today's naming ceremony features former New York's former Governor George Pataki and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. Dean David Rudenstine of Cardozo will also be speaking. (Speaking of which: isn't it amazing how far Cardozo has progressed in the mere 30+ years since it opened?)
More details are here. Photo is of Earle Mack, naturally.
Congratulations! This is incredibly exciting.
