Jeff Rice

"On Broadway" was actually written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil in collaboration with Leiber and Stoller The Weil and Mann version was originally recorded by The Crystals and by The Cookies. The classic Drifters version was a revised score with amendments by Leiber and Stoller with lead guitar by Phil Spector. Interesting legacy of how 'hits' were made in 1963.
