I spent a little time looking at Dan Filler's data that compares the 2011 and 2012 entering first year student credentials (what he calls predictors). Obviously we don't yet have data on all schools (and I also omitted schools that list separate credentials for part time and full time students). But I wanted to talk a little bit about the differences that are emerging. I hope to have a couple of posts on this. Let me start with a comparison of LSAT median scores of students entering law school in 2011 and 2012. The 2011 LSAT median was 158.48 and the 2012 LSAT median is 157.82. The mean difference = -0.65, SD = 1.02, N = 101. The correlation between the 2011 and 2012 medians in the 101 schools is .98.
The below table shows the percentages of schools at each tier of U.S. News for which the 2012 LSAT median is reported.
