As I discuss in more detail over at Leiter, and Paul Caron notes at TaxProf, Katherine Barnes and Elizabeth Mertz have a new study up entitled Is It Fair? Law Professors’ Perceptions of Tenure. The authors survey a ton of law professors - OK,more like 500 - and found decidedly mixed perceptions of the titled question, particularly with respect to women. It's worth a read.
Update: I erroneously stated that the authors surveyed about 500 professors. The number is actually 1221. My apologies!
