William E. Adams has just been named dean at
Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California. Bill is a long-time faculty member at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, where he is currently serving as associate dean for International, Online and Graduate Programs.
Adams has taught at Nova since 1990. He presently serves as the Associate Dean for International, Online and Graduate programs. He has also served as acting dean at Nnova and Director of Clinical Programs. His teaching involves Criminal Law, Torts and Constitutional Law.
Adams is editor and co-author of AIDS: Cases and Materials (Carolina Academic Press, 3rd ed., 2002), as well as other work on legal issues in the areas of HIV, sexual orientation and elder law. Adams has Chaired the Association of American Law Schools’ Section on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Issus as well as its Section on Aging and the Law. He is also a prior Chair of the Florida Bar’s Public Interest Law Section. The National Lesbian and Gay Law Association presented its Dan Bradley Award for significant contributions made to lesbian and gay rights to Professor Adams in 1994.
Prior to coming to NSU, Adams held the position of Elderly Projects Director at the Center for Governmental Responsibility at the Holland Law Center at the University of Florida. He was also a legal services corporation attorney representing indigent persons for approximately nine years in Indiana and Florida.
Adams received his J.D., cum laude, and his A.B. degrees from Indiana University.
